Print Care
Every print from this site is made to last. Paper prints use archival paper, rated to last a lifetime under normal display conditions, and metal prints are exceptionally durable by their very construction. A little care goes a long way toward keeping yours looking the way it did the day it arrived.
Where to hang it
The single most important thing is light. Hang your print out of direct sunlight, because even archival materials last longest away from harsh light. Steady indoor light, lamps, and bright rooms are all fine. It is also best to avoid steamy or damp spots like bathrooms, and walls that sit above a stove or radiator.
Caring for paper prints
Paper prints have an archival lustre finish and do best behind glass or acrylic. When you frame one, ask for a mat or spacer so the print does not rest against the glazing, and choose UV-filtering glass or acrylic if the room gets a lot of light. Until it is framed, keep the print flat in its packaging and handle it by the edges with clean, dry hands.
Caring for metal prints
Metal prints arrive ready to hang, with the image infused into the surface of the aluminum. There is no glass to manage and no frame required. To clean one, dust it with a soft, lint-free cloth, and for fingerprints or smudges, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Gentle is the rule: avoid harsh cleaners and anything abrasive, and the print will stay looking new.
